How to protect Solar Panels from Theft

Updated: May 2

SMART ANTI-THEFT ALARM FOR SOLAR PANELS

Designed to protect your solar panels against theft. This system works like an advanced padlock with electronic features that allow you to protect your panels 24/7. Connected to the Analyser in the Anti-theft Control Box (mounted in the house), the sensor cable is looped through the mounting holes of all solar panels and back into the Anti-theft Control Box, as illustrated below. Protecting your solar panels end-to-end. This way, the Analyser will detect any attempt to remove any solar panel from the mounting structure and immediately sound the siren or triggering the alarm.

This system is free of false alarms; it is not sensitive to vibrations, weather conditions like wind, rain or snow, will not affect it. And leaves, birds and animals will not trigger any false alarms. Fool proof design; everything is installed at a secure space like in the house, garage or guard house allowing zero opportunity to unauthorized strangers to tamper with your system.

It can be installed with a siren to work as a stand alone alarm or it can be linked to your main alarm system.

Why is the Smart Solar Panel Anti-theft Alarm Kit a Smart Choice?

Usually, some people will use motion detectors to protect their solar panels, especially those who already have an alarm system installed. Adding a few more Motion Detectors sounds like a reasonable thing to do. While this solution may work, it is not 100% percent effective. In most cases, chances are that the solar panels are or will be installed on the rooftop. Mounting motion detectors at this heights will expose them to higher temperatures depending on the type of roofing and vibrations due to wind. Also multiple motion sensors will be required to fairly cover the whole installation.

On the other hand, Smart Solar Panel Anti-theft Alarm has the following benefits; minimal installation requirements, reliability and effectiveness - all which boils down to cost reduction. For example, one good outdoor PIR is almost twice the price of the complete Smart Solar Panel Anti-theft Alarm Kit - keep in mind that you might need more than one PIR. Installing the PIRs on your rooftop means you need to hire a brave ladder-climbing technical expert who is going to run lengths of 6 core cables and drill a number of holes in your walls. Eventually, taxing you with an invoice for their hard labour. Even worse, if any of the PIRs gets faulty and malfunctions, this might be the beginning of a long term relationship with your technician.

Whereas, with Smart Solar Panel Anti-theft Alarm,

almost no maintenance is required at the roof and the installation can be done together with the solar panels at no additional cost. In fact, you can do the installation yourself. All you need is a drill (even a simple hammer can do), a small flat screw driver. You can just ask your solar installer to loop the Sensor Cable through the solar panels for you. But if you enjoy heart-wrenching roof hiking adventure, you can run the Sensor Cable yourself. The Anti-theft Control Box comes almost completely wired. You just need to connect the Sensor Cable, End-of-Line Detector, Siren or a Transmitter if you will be linking it to your main alarm. That's it!
